Our role in the process

We are responsible only for administrative tasks and do not participate in decisions on the issue of documents. We collect applications, verify documentation and capture biometric data according to each government's requirements, but the final decision always belongs to the competent authority.

An example of this model is our assistance to Dutch citizens in Spain: users apply for passport renewals at our centres where we collect their fingerprints and documents on behalf of the Dutch government. The authority then decides whether to issue the new passport.
